Eric M. Langland, 29, of Decorah, IA, died Saturday, July 20, 2013, in a drowning accident in rural Decorah. Memorial services will be held Saturday, August 3rd at 11:00 AM at Iowa River Cemetery in rural Decorah with Rev. David Andreae officiating. Martin Funeral Home of Waukon is handling arrangements.
Eric Michael Langland was born on August 13, 1983 in Decorah, IA, the son of Bruce Dean Langland and Shirley Faye Stee. He attended Decorah High School and later earned his GED. Eric had most recently been working as a CNC milling machine operator for Cutting Edge Enterprise in Decorah. From an early age Eric took an interest electronics and technology. He was good working with computers and anything to do with motors. Eric also enjoyed the outdoors and liked to go camping, canoeing, and swimming. He was also involved with flying radio controlled planes.
Survivors include his father Bruce Langland and friend Luann Paulus of Prairie du Chien, WI; his mother Shirley Langland of Decorah; his daughter Torri May Langland; a ½ brother Lester Jerome Nelson; his paternal grandmother Lois Langland of Waukon; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Morton and Mathel Stee and his paternal grandfather Charles Langland.
