Elizabeth Mae Huffman

Elizabeth M. Huffman, 82, of Lansing, IA, died Monday, November 1, 2021, at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon, IA. A visitation will be held from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM Saturday, November 6th, at Martin - Grau Funeral Home in Waukon.

Elizabeth Mae Huffman was born May 2, 1939, in Elgin, IL, the daughter of Fred and Ruby Ellen (Cook) Gritmacker. On June 28, 1958, she married Dennis Huffman in Maquoketa, IA. After they were married, they lived in Palatine, IL, for a short time before moving to Lake Zurich, IL, where she ran a successful house cleaning business until she retired in 2002. After retiring, she and Dennis moved to Lansing, IA.

Elizabeth enjoyed spending time in the outdoors, hiking and wandering in the woods. She also enjoyed wood working, oil painting, taking care of her family, her chickens, and her grand dog Bella.

Survivors include her daughters: Kathleen Huffman and Vickie (George) Farning, both of Lansing; four grandchildren: Dylan Farning, Alex Vilmin, Janett Farning, and Jessica (Garrett) Keaton; and a sister Rose Hermanson. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband Dennis, who died in 2016; three brothers: John, Glen, and James Gritmacker; and three sisters: June Behning, Ruth Hermanson, and Nancy Andrews.

Honorary casketbearers are her grandchildren.
