Elaine C. Johnson, 56, of Lansing, IA, died Monday, July 25, 2011, at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon, IA, surrounded by her family. Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 28th, at 11:00 AM at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Waukon, with Rev. Msgr. Ed Lechtenberg officiating. Burial will be at Gethsemane Cemetery, Lansing. Friends may call from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM Wednesday at Martin Funeral Home in Waukon where there will be a 7:30 pm prayer service.

Elaine Cecelia Johnson was born October 20, 1954 in Waukon, IA, the daughter of Victor and Cecelia (Burds) Johnson. She graduated form Abner-Erickson School in Decorah, IA in 1978. Elaine spent many years of her adult life working at TASC in Waukon. She loved weaving, shopping, country music, especially Allen Jackson, going to concerts, movies and spending time with family and friends.

Survivors include her siblings, Carolyn (Duane) Thys of Cedar Rapids, IA, Keith (Beth) Johnson of Alexandria, VA, Janice (Ken) McCormick of Lansing, IA, Carlton Johnson of Harpers Ferry, IA, Jeanne (Joanne Richmond) Johnson of La Crosse, WI and Vickie (Duane) Grochowski of South Saint Paul, MN; 9 nieces and nephews, Susan (Ken) Mark, Shannon McCormick-Stone, Dusty, Colby and Ian McCormick, Jade, Effie and Jacob Johnson and Alyssa Johnson; 9 great-nieces and nephews, Joey, Victor and Carly Mark, Mason Stone, Brenden Krogan, Michelle, Reagan and Brecken McCormick and Cael Rethwisch; 3 aunts, Bernadine Speigel, Marietta and Geneva Johnson and special friends, Brian Slindee and Nikki O'Neil. She is preceded in death by her parents; grandparents and numerous aunts and uncles.


Casketbearers are her nieces and nephews.
