Edmund A. Tubilewicz, 91, of Lansing, IA, formerly of Stevens Point, WI, died Sunday, September 16, 2012, at Thornton Manor Nursing Home in Lansing. Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 6th at 12:00 PM at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Lansing with Rev. Msgr. Ed Lechtenberg officiating. Burial will be at Gethsemane Catholic Cemetery, Lansing. Friends may greet the family from 11:00 AM until time of services on Saturday at the church. Martin Funeral Home in Waukon is assisting the family with arrangements.


Edmund Alexander Tubilewicz was born on June 9, 1921 in Butternut, WI, the son of Alexander and Anna (Jarosz) Tubilewicz. He farmed with his parents before they moved to Chicago, IL, in 1947. When they moved to Chicago Ed joined the carpenters union. He worked for the A.M.F. where he was a supervisor overseeing the building of bowling alleys in the Midwest states. On September 23, 1961, he married Francis Jeanette Murphy at St. Cornelius Catholic Church in Chicago. In 1979, he and Francis moved to Stevens Point, WI, where he was a member of the Lincoln Center, participating in many of their activities and had several friends. Ed received his 50 year pin in 1998 from the carpenters union. He enjoyed gardening, cooking, playing cards especially pinochle, watching the Chicago Cubs and working with ceramics.


Survivors include a sister-in-law, Lottie Tubilewicz; nieces and nephews, Stanley (Joyce) Zydlo, Jr., Carol Rigby, Robert (Laura) Glon, Gerald Kostelny, Barbara (Gary) Shenfish, Walter (Joyce) Walczewski, Jr., Sandy (Frank) Schachelmeyer, Debra Eriksen, Thomas Tubilewicz, Linda (Scott) McClintoch, Nancy (Ray) Speare, John Angel, Jr., Mary Kernan, Anne (Jerry) Kernan, Mike (Teri) Collins, Kathy (Jim) McGettigan, Kathleen Murphy, Mike Murphy, Jerry (Maralyn) Welsh and Anne Robarge. He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife Francis who died in 2004; his siblings, Adeline (Edmund) Weiland, Estella (Stanley) Zydlo, Helen (Raymond) Glon, Phyllis (Sam) Kostelny, Joan (Walter) Walczewski, Zenon Tubilewicz and Delores (Raymond) Stellmach; and many other relatives.
