Dorothy Ann Sheridan Terhune was born in Waukon Iowa on September 20, 1926 the daughter of Arthur and Cecilia Sheridan. She graduated high school from St. Patrick's Catholic school and followed her sister to Marquette University for her BA and then on to University of Michigan for her Masters. Dorothy met and married the love of her life, her rock of Gibraltar, John E. Terhune and they have enjoyed over 52 years together. Faith and family were central to her life, along with a strong work ethic and keen sense of humor. She enjoyed working at GRCC for over 48 years as a reference librarian. Active in sports in her younger years, she could outdrive many men on the golf course and loved a game of tennis or bowling. Fiercely loyal to family and friends, she was proud of the accomplishments of those she loved, especially her mother and father.

Terhune are nieces and nephews: Patrick (Amy) Cunningham, Cecilia Cunningham, Arthur (Judy) Sheridan, Roxanne (William) Riordan, Shawn (Susan) Sheridan, Michael (Lindy) Sheridan, Jeffrey (Melissa) Sheridan, Robert Terhune, Sandra (John) Randolph and dozens of their children. The family would like to thank Marywood Health Center and Hospice of Michigan staff for their loving care of Dorothy. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister and brother-in-law Mary Eleanor and Robert C. Cunningham, her brother Arthur Lee Sheridan, and her beloved Scottish Terrier, Sir Arthur.
