Donald "Donny" Vine

Donald "Donny" Vine, 78, of Cresco, IA, formerly of Waukon, IA, died Thursday, March 21, 2019, at the hospital in Cresco. There will be no formal services; a family celebration of life service will be held at a later date.

Donald Raymond "Donny" Vine was born July 13, 1940 in Decorah, IA, to Hjalmer and Ida (Moen) Vine. He attended country school in Bur Oak and later Decorah High School. On February 19, 1961 he married Ruth Bechtel at Salem United Church of Christ in rural Waukon. Donny worked as a farmer and an auctioneer. He loved spending time with his family and grandkids as well as fishing, riding horses, and playing cards.

Survivors include his wife Ruth of Cresco; his children: Connie (Charlie) Regan of Lansing, IA, and Randy (Shelly) Vine of Waukon; 8 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; 3 brothers: Raymond, Harold, and Roger; and a sister Irene Drew.
