Donald Roffman

Donald D. Roffman, 79, of Sioux City, IA, formerly of Postville, IA, died on Tuesday, May 7, 2013, at Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City. A memorial service was held in Sioux City. A memorial service will be at Martin Funeral Home in Waukon, IA, on Saturday, May 18th at 11:00 AM followed by burial at Oakland Cemetery, Waukon. Friends may call from 10:30 AM until time of services on Saturday at Martin Funeral Home.

Donald Duane Roffman was born April 21, 1934, in Postville, IA; he was the son of Otto and Cecelia (Regan) Roffman. He grew up on the family farm, and attended school at Postville graduating from Postville High. He entered the US Army and served for 2 years. Upon his honorable discharge he attended the University of Iowa at Iowa City graduating with his BBA. He married Georgean Kluss on June 22, 1958, at Monona, IA. Don worked as an insurance adjuster for various companies and also as an independent adjuster. He served as a troop leader for the Boy Scouts.

Surviving are his wife Georgean of Sioux City, IA; son Matt Roffman of Sioux City; daughter Audrey (Christopher) Zehr of Washington, IA; 2 grandchildren: Ryan Zehr and Emily Zehr; brothers: Keith (Dorothy) Roffman of Waukon, IA and John (Joellen) Roffman of Postville; sister-in-law Laura Mae Roffman of Postville; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents; son Michael; and brother Robert.
