Delores Jean Kroack, 76, of Waukon, IA, died Tuesday, January 5, 2021, at Good Samaritan Center in Waukon. Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 9th, at 11:00 AM at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Waukon with Fr. John Moser, Fr. Joseph Schneider, and Rev. Msgr. Ed Lechtenberg officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Waukon. Friends may call one hour before services at the church on Saturday. In consideration of concerns regarding Covid-19, social distancing and wearing of a mask is required. Memorials may be made to St. Patrick School, Veterans Memorial Hospital, or Good Samaritan Center, all in Waukon. Cards may be sent to Joe Kroack at 503 3rd St. SW, Waukon, IA 52172. Martin-Grau Funeral Home in Waukon is handling arrangements.
Delores Jean Kroack was born April 16, 1944, in Monona, IA, the daughter of George and Marjorie (Molitor) Topel. She attended Figgie Country School in rural Allamakee County and graduated from MFL High School in 1962. On May 27, 1967, she married Joseph "Joe" Kroack at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Monona. Jean worked at Iowa Radio Supply in Cedar Rapids, IA, Goldberg Furniture in North Syracuse, NY, Northern Engraving, and for the Department of Human Services in Waukon before she retired in 2004.
Jean was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church. She enjoyed bowling, camping, fishing, deer hunting, and spending time with family.
Survivors include her husband Joe of Waukon; her son James of Waukon; a sister Sharon Kouba of Hiawatha, IA; and sister-in-law Beverly Walsh of Waukon. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers: Irving and James Walsh; brother-in-law Don Kouba; and sister-in-law Mary Lou Walsh.
Honorary casketbearers are Whalen Ahlstrom, Bryan Bollman, Mike Clark, Jeff Molitor, Matthew Nelson, and Kim, Casey, and Cory Walsh.
