Delores Marie Dehning was born on August 25, 1924 in Dorchester, the only daughter of George and Hazel (Beardmore) Weber. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Luke's United Church of Christ in Eitzen, MN. Delores attended country school and Waukon High School graduating in the Class of 1942. After high school, Delores spent a year at home farming with her parents and then decided she wanted to become a school teacher. She earned her teaching certificate by attending Waukon Junior College and later spent a summer studying at Luther College. She loved teaching country school with all her heart. She spent her first year teaching at Columbus country school living with the Ashbacher family. She then taught at Wheatland country school for one year living with the Reinke family. She then taught at English Bench country school for four years living with the Charlie Beardmore family. On July 16, 1953 Delores married Lloyd Dehning at St. Luke's United Church of Christ. Lloyd was a hard-working farmer so he fit right in with the Weber family. Delores and Lloyd made their home on Delores's family farm with Delores's parents. They farmed together all of their life raising dairy cows, hogs, chickens and beef cows. Delores loved animals and enjoyed farm chores by petting the sows and taming the beef cattle.

Delores loved genealogy and had a tremendous knowledge of her family history. She had an incredible memory and enjoyed recordkeeping and scrapbooking of her family history very much. Delores enjoyed teaching Sunday School and planning lessons for Ladies Aid at church. She and Lloyd did everything together and were seldom seen apart throughout their 60 year marriage. Delores was a devoted daughter, wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed attending all of the grandchildren's activities, concerts and sporting events and never missed a game even if it was 20 degrees below zero.

In later years, Delores and Lloyd moved to Waukon to Evergreen Court Apartments and later to the Good Samaritan Center. Always a devoted wife, when Lloyd could no longer reside in the apartment Delores moved to Good Samaritan Center with him so they could be together even though at that time she was in perfect health.

Delores is survived by her husband Lloyd of Waukon; one daughter Gail (Dave)Prestemon of Waukon; three grandchildren: Aaron (Sarah) of Dorchester, Emily of Colesburg and Nicole of Ames; one great-grandson Hoyt; two brothers-in-law: Don (Marge) Dehning of Waukon, Merlin (Lois) Dehning of Caledonia, five sisters-in-law: Lila (Hillery) Kasten of Eitzen, Lorraine Peter and Janice (Gene) Tessmer of Caledonia, Letha Fall of Bussey, IA and Carol Plank of Lake City, MN. She was preceded in death by her parents.
