David M. Honn, 56, of Plymouth, MN, formerly of Waukon, IA, died Thursday, May 3, 2012, at North Memorial Hospital in Robbinsdale, MN. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 8th, at 11:00 AM at Salem United Church of Christ in rural Waukon, with Pastor Keith Selberg officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM Monday at Martin Funeral Home in Waukon. In Lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Hospice of the Twin Cities.
David Meryle Honn was born January 19, 1956, in Albuquerque, NM, the son of Meryle and Linda (Baumgartner) Honn. He graduated from Waukon High School in 1974 and attended University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls. David moved back to Waukon and farmed with his father for three years. David then moved to Minneapolis, MN, where he attended the Minnesota School of Business. After college he sold computers for a couple of years, later he started a Servpro business. On June 21, 1996 he married Sheri Andregg in Las Vegas, Nevada. David and Sheri owned three Servpro franchises in the metro area. David was very passionate about his work. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, traveling, computers and spending time at his father's cabin at Upper Iowa Resort in rural Dorchester, IA.
Survivors include his wife, Sheri Honn of Plymouth, MN; his children, Cody (fiancé Jill Meyer) Mathis of New Albin, IA, and Abbi Mathis of Ames, IA; a granddaughter, Layla; his father, Meryle (Mary Cuvelier) Honn of Waukon; a sister, Nancy (Donn) Hager of Caledonia, MN; his mother-in-law, Vivian Andregg of Waukon; many nieces, nephews and many other loving relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his mother, Linda Honn.
Honorary casketbearers are Donn and Dusty Hager. Casketbearers are Scott Kennedy, Dan Hansmeier, Rich Wiedner, Don Baxter, Randy Burke and Mark White.
