Daniel P. Hart, 45, of Sioux City, IA, formerly of Waukon, IA, died Friday, April 24, 2015, at Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City. Memorial services will be held Saturday, May 9th, at 11:00 AM at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Waukon, with Fr. Jim Dubert and Deacon Mike Ward officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Waukon. Friends may call from 10:00 AM until the time of services Saturday at the church. Martin Funeral Home in Waukon is handling arrangements.
Daniel Patrick Hart was born September 10, 1969, in Waukon, IA, the son of William and Elizabeth (Ryan) Hart. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Waukon and in 1988, graduated from Waukon High School. Dan then graduated from Ellsworth Community College in Iowa Falls, IA. After graduation Dan worked for a number of companies including: MCI, Nordstrom, and Younkers. Most recently, he worked as a security manager for McLeod Telecommunications in Cedar Rapids, IA. For the past two years, Dan was living in Sioux City, IA.
Dan was an avid sports fan; his favorite teams were Notre Dame and the Pittsburgh Steelers. He was an animal lover and had many pets over the years and was especially fond of the family basset hound Bogus.
Dan is survived by his mother Elizabeth Hart of Waukon; one brother Greg (Kathy) Hart of Sioux City; two sisters: Diane (Larry) Wolfe of Charles City, IA, and Christine (Chris) Cummings of Sussex, WI; and his nieces and nephews: Elizabeth and Ryan Wolfe, Abby Weibel, and Grace and Michael Cummings.
He was preceded in death by his father and a brother-in-law Donald Gavle.
