Connie Jean Duvel

Connie J. Duvel, 55, of Postville, IA, died Wednesday, November 24, 2010, at Gundersen Lutheran Hospital in LaCrosse, WI. Memorial services will be held Monday, November 29th, at 11:00 AM at Salem United Church of Christ, rural Waukon, IA. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call at the church from 10:00 AM until time of services. Martin Funeral Home in Waukon is assisting the family.

Connie Jean Duvel was born November 6, 1955 in Waukon, IA, the daughter of Orville and Laura (Bruckner) Duvel. She was baptized and confirmed at the Postville Presbyterian Church. After growing up in Postville Connie owned and operated Connie's Pizza in Postville. In 1992 she received an Associates Degree of Nursing from NICC in Calmer. Most recently she worked as an RN at the Aase Haugen Home in Decorah, IA, as well as the Good Samaritan Center in Waukon. Connie enjoyed cake decorating, candle making, gardening, camping, fishing and attending her grandchildren's activities.

Survivors include 2 children, Lori (Aaron) Hickling of Ft. Atkinson, WI and Jeremy (Brenda) Duvel of Peosta, IA; 4 grandchildren, Ryan, Lizzy, Lucas and Landon; her parents, Orville and Laura Duvel of Postville; and 3 siblings, Ron (Patti) Duvel of Postville, Brenda (Mark) Fredrickson of Grafton, IA and Chuck and (Lorna) Duvel of Waukon. She was preceded in death by a brother, Don Duvel.
