Clarke A. Ford, 53, of Waukon, IA, died Saturday, August 21, 2010, at Gundersen Lutheran Hospital in LaCrosse, WI. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 24th, at 10:30 AM at Martin Funeral Home in Waukon, with Rev. Lynn G. Groe officiating. Burial will be at Oakland Cemetery, Waukon. Friends may call from 4:00 - 7:00 PM Monday at Martin Funeral Home in Waukon.


Clarke Alden Ford was born May 6, 1957 in Waukon, IA, the son of Harry Alden and Deve Jane (Fish) Ford. He attended Waukon Schools. Clarke worked for Fitzgerald Roofing in Waukon for five years. He moved to Mobile, Alabama, where lived for about ten years, where worked as a maintenance supervisor for an apartment complex. He was certified as a refrigeration and cooling specialist. Clarke worked at Cabela's in Prairie du Chien, WI, for a short time. On February 26, 2005 he married Dee Schott at the First Presbyterian Church in Waukon, they later divorced. Clarke had several hours of flight experience in training for his pilots license. He enjoyed woodworking, traveling, collecting and restoring pocket watches and loved animals. Clarke taught himself how to play the guitar which he enjoyed playing.

Survivors include a son, Jarad (Sara) Gatton of Las Vegas, NV; a granddaughter, Cora Gatton; 2 sisters, Linda (Mike) Handke of Waukon, IA and Lisa (Brian) Selberg of La Crescent, MN; 1 nephew, Bryce McCormick; 3 nieces Jessica, Sarah and Kayla Selberg; 1 step-nephew, Michael Handke, Jr. and 2 step-nieces, Jennifer Handke and Nikki Frana. He is preceded in death by parents.

Casketbearers are Darell and Terry Ford, Brad Selberg, Mike Handke Jr., Jesse Brainard and Dale Leikvold.
