Cynthia Joyce Barr was born November 26, 1952, in Madison, WI, the daughter of Virgil "Bill" and Clara (Jackson) Reed. She grew up in Viroqua, WI, and graduated from Viroqua High School. On January 13, 1973, Cindy married Conrad Barr at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Viroqua. The couple lived in Waukon, IA, where Cindy worked at various places including: Waukon Auto Supply, R.W. Pladsen, Village Farm and Home, and owned and operated Cindy's Auto Parts for a few years.
Cindy spent a lot of time in her gardens, tending to her flowers and fish pond, and if she couldn't be found there, she was probably mowing the front yard or doing some kind of yard work. She loved animals, especially her cat Tiger, and when she was younger liked riding horses. Cindy liked country music and a big highlight for her was meeting Don Williams after attending one of his concerts. Conrad played steel guitar; he was the featured guitar player in Carl Thompson's band and played with other bands too. Cindy loved seeing him play with the bands as well as when he would play for her at home. She also enjoyed visiting with her aunt Norma Reed, watching cop shows, crocheting, and being on the river with her brother Randy and family.
She is survived by her husband Conrad of Waukon; two sons: Chris (Dawn) Barr of Palo, IA, and Chad Barr of Waukon; three grandchildren: Grace, Kennedy, and Ashlee; three stepsons: Shayne (Bethany) Barr of St. Louis, MO, Warren (June) Barr of Waukon, and Patrick (Mary) Barr of Des Moines, IA; her brother Randy (Diane) Reed of Kenosha, WI; and her sister-in-law Judy (Harvey) Landt and their son Winston of Cedar Rapids, IA. Cindy was preceded in death by her parents.
