Caryn Weymiller

Caryn C. Weymiller, 88, of Waukon, IA, died Monday, October 30, 2023, at Benedictine Manor in La Crosse, WI. Visitation will be held Friday, November 10th, from 11:00 AM – 12:30 PM with a time of memory sharing to follow at Martin - Grau Funeral Home in Waukon. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon.

Caryn Coy Weymiller was born on September 7, 1935, to Mildred (Layland) and Verner Chapman in La Crosse, WI. After graduating from Central High School in 1953, she worked at a bank as an accountant.

She met Louis Weymiller and they married on March 21, 1970, in La Crosse. They built a new house on the Weymiller farm outside of New Albin, IA, and lived there for many years, farming with their nephew David Weymiller and his wife Laure.

Caryn loved the farming life, cooking for Lou, hosting pool parties, and even driving the tractor.  She enjoyed reading, gardening, playing cards with friends and family, and watching Packer games.

Caryn and Lou spent many winters residing in Winter Haven, FL. After retiring from farming, they lived in a condo in Waukon. Caryn was a frequent volunteer at Veterans Memorial Hospital.

Caryn was preceded in death by her husband Lou; her parents Mildred and Verner Chapman; brothers Don and Eber; a sister Colleen; and a sister-in-law Mary Lou Welper.

She is survived by her sister-in-law Shirley Chapman; brother-in-law Franklin "Doc" (Jean) Weymiller; sister-in-law Ruth Ann (Leon) Myhre; and several nieces and nephews.

Honorary urnbearers will be Caryn's nieces and nephews.
