Carol A. Pausch, 76, of Waukon, IA, and formerly of Postville, IA died Tuesday, May 25, 2010, at Gundersen Lutheran Hospital in LaCrosse, WI. Memorial services will be held Friday, May 28th, at 2:00 PM at Martin Funeral Home in Waukon, with Pastor Steve Brackett officiating. Burial will be at Postville Cemetery, Postville. Friends may call one hour prior to services on Friday at Martin Funeral Home in Waukon.
Carol Ann Pausch was born May 18, 1934 in Waterloo, IA, the daughter of Kenneth and Esther (Carroll) Fettkether. She attended Waterloo Schools and later received a Nurse's Aid certificate. On June 13, 1953 she married Calvin Kostman in Waterloo. He died in 1979. On July 9, 1994 she married Marlin Pausch at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, IA. Carol farmed with her husbands in Ludlow Township in rural Postville. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, and a devoted care giver to many family members and friends. Carol enjoyed listening to country music, shopping, taking rides in the countryside and going to shows at the Isle Capri in Marquette. She also enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, Marlin of Waukon; her children, Deborah Englehardt of Waterloo, IA Dean and Robert Kostman both of Waukon and John (Sue) Kostman of Mt. Vernon, IA; 5 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a sister, Sharon McManus of Claremont, CA; a brother, Tom Fettkether of Waterloo, and her dog Smokey. She is preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, Calvin; 2 sisters, Janice Clark and Mary Hargrave; and 2 brothers, James and Michael Fettkether.
Honorary casketbearers are Carol's grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will carry on her memory.
