Carol Frances Moe was born in Waukon, IA, on June 24, 1935, the daughter of William Gilbert and Anna Maria (Huffman) Roderick. During her childhood, she was raised on several area farms that her parents rented. She graduated from Waukon High School and was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church of Waukon.

On January 30, 1955, Carol married James George Moe at St. John's Lutheran Church in Waukon. Jim and Carol lived and farmed on the Moe Family Farm from 1955 to 2015. Carol was a true farm wife and assisted with the milking and feeding the cows on the dairy operation, fed and raised the dairy calves, helped in the feeding and raising the hogs in the farrow to finish operation, and assisted in the feeding and raising of the cows and calves in the cow/calf beef operation. She also assisted in the planting and harvesting of the crops: oats, alfalfa, and corn that was all used in the livestock feeding operations.

In 1998, Jim suffered a stroke and the farm was put in the ten-year program. When the program finished, the farm was rented and later sold to Heath Dee. In late 2015, Carol and Jim purchased a condominium in Waukon. Jim died in 2016, and Carol continued to live in the condo until 2023. Due to her declining health, Carol moved to the assisted living facility Evergreen Court and lived there for a year. The last two months of her life, Carol resided at the Waukon Good Samaritan Center.

Carol and Jim were blessed with six children: Joel, Ann, Julie, Jeffrey, Glen, and Todd. Carol and Jim enjoyed traveling to many foreign countries and many of the states in the United States. Carol was an excellent cook and baker, noted for her cinnamon rolls, long johns, bismarks, and holiday treats. Carol was a fan of the Iowa State Cyclones and Iowa Hawkeyes and watched many games on television. Carol also enjoyed sewing, gardening, playing cards, and doing jigsaw puzzles.

Carol is survived by her children: Ann (Mike) King of Hinckley, England, Julie (Doug) Olson of Waukee, IA, Jeffrey and Glen, both of Waukon, and Todd (Carol) Moe of New Hampton, IA. She is also survived by one sister Sharon Massie; one daughter-in-law Yu Chen Chi; sister-in-law Judy (John) Dorumsgaard; six granddaughters: Rachel (Devin) Smith, Laura (Andy) Ratcliffe, Morgan Moe, Joanna (Jeff) Murnan, Thea (Shane Johannsen) Moe, and Sarah (Jonny) Oglesby; step-grandchildren: Allison Dreyer and Adam King; eleven great-grandchildren; and one step-great-grandchild.
