January 15, 1949 — March 5, 2018

Carol J. Cole, 69, of Waukon, IA, died Monday, March 5, 2018, at Gundersen Lutheran Hospital in La Crosse, WI. A prayer service will be held Thursday, March 8th, at 7:00 PM at Martin Funeral Home in Waukon with Pastor Bill Odermann officiating. Private burial will be held at Oakland Cemetery, Waukon. Friends may call from 4:00 PM until time of the prayer service at the funeral home on Thursday.

Carol Jean Cole was born January 15, 1949, in Brookfield, MO, the daughter of Arthur and Helen (Ross) Curtis. She graduated from MarMac High School in McGregor, IA, in 1966. On October 4, 1969, she married Allen Cole in Guttenberg, IA. They lived in Guttenberg and McGregor before they were divorced. In 1974, Carol moved to Waukon, IA, where she went to work at Northern Engraving until the factory closed. She enjoyed reading, traveling, and spending time with her family and friends.

Survivors include her children: Kim (Brad) Yohe of Waukon and Wes (Jennifer) Cole of Hiawatha, IA; six grandchildren: Blake and Caitlin Troendle, Taylor (Logan) Donahue, Parker Yohe, and Mason and Logan Cole; two great-grandchildren: Ella and Axle Donahue; a brother Larry Curtis of Waukon; and several cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents.

Casketbearers are Wes Cole, Brad Yohe, Blake and Glenn Troendle, and Logan Donahue.
