Carol Chase

     Carol E. Chase, 87, of Lansing, IA, passed away Sunday, March 8, 2026, at Thornton Manor in Lansing. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, with visitation starting at 9:30 AM until time of services, on Thursday, March 12, 2026, at Thornburg-Grau Funeral Home in Lansing with Rev. Joseph Sevcik as officiant. Interment will follow at Council Hill Cemetery, rural Monona, IA. Everyone is welcome to join the family for fellowship and a luncheon following the burial at the Farmersburg Community Center, Farmersburg, IA. Thornburg-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Lansing is handling arrangements.

     Carol Elaine Chase was born September 30, 1938, to Elmer Clarence Lewis and Margaret (Lestina) Schlitter in Monona, IA. She graduated from Monona High School. On August 20, 1960, Carol was united in marriage with James William Chase at the Evangelical Church in Monona. She briefly worked at Collins Radio, Monona Wire, and Sedlmayr Locker, but the majority of her career was at 3M. She enjoyed gardening and growing flowers, baking buns, genealogy, and being the Avon Lady.

     Survivors include her sons: Scott (Jonell) Chase and Steve (Marilyn) Chase; grandchildren: Adam (Danielle) Chase, Amanda Chase, and Adriana (Evan) Baumler, Jen (Cody) Hager, Zach Chase, and Nick (Taylor) Chase; great-grandchildren: Bradyn, Ryan, Phoenix, Jaden, Bailee, Addy, Clay, Emma, Jameson, Waylon, Jadelynn, Jensen, Jaxon, Levi, Maisyn, and Sylvia; her sister Deanna Krambeer; and brother Frank Schlitter.

     Preceding Carol in death was her husband James Chase; grandson Andrew Chase; brother-in-law Harold Krambeer; and sister-in-law Sandy Schlitter.
