Brent Edward Monson

Brent E. Monson, 63, of Waukon, IA, died Saturday, July 23, 2022, at Gundersen Health System in La Crosse, WI. He has been cremated and there are no services planned at this time. Martin – Grau Funeral Home in Waukon is handling arrangements.

Brent Edward Monson was born November 4, 1958, in Rice Lake, WI, the son of Roy and Carol (Driver) Monson. He graduated from Rice Lake High School in 1977. On December 3, 1983, he married Linda Ferring at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, IA. Brent farmed with his father and brother in rural Rice Lake until 1992, then went to work at the Tomahawk Foundry. Brent and Linda moved to Waukon in 2000, where he worked at Northern Engraving until it closed. He then took classes to become a CMA and worked at Aase Haugen and Wellington Place in Decorah and at Gundersen Tweeten in Spring Grove, MN, until he retired in April of 2021. Brent loved the Green Bay Packers and Wisconsin Badgers, always keeping track of the latest football news on his phone.

Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Linda Monson of Waukon; his brother Robin Monson of Rice Lake, WI; many cousins; and his canine companion Lily. He is preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; his in-laws; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
