Bonnie L. Reardon, 80, of Waukon, IA, died Wednesday, April 27, 2011, at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 30th, at 1:00 PM at Martin Funeral Home in Waukon, with Pastor Tom Shanklin officiating. Burial will be at Oakland Cemetery, Waukon. Friends may call from 4:00 - 7:00 PM Friday at Martin Funeral Home in Waukon.
Bonnie Lou Evans Jones Reardon was born February 11, 1931 in Myron Village rural Waukon, IA, the daughter of Stiner Joseph and Rose Mary (Harris) Evans. She attended Myron Elementary School, Postville School and graduated from Waukon High School in 1948. On December 23, 1948 she married Carl R. Jones at St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Waukon. Bonnie and Carl moved to Battle Creek, MI, where they had four children. They were later divorced. She moved back to Waukon in 1961. Bonnie worked as a Nurse's Aid at Veterans Memorial Hospital and Northgate Care Center both in Waukon. In January of 1971 she married William Reardon. He died in 1973. She moved to Gastonia, NC in the mid 1970's for a couple of years before moving back to Waukon. Bonnie has been a resident of Northgate Care Center since 2002. She enjoyed cooking, baking, crocheting, embroidering and playing cards with her grandchildren. Bonnie's favorite times were when she was spending time with her family.
Survivors include her children, Karla (Dennis) Miller of Waukon, Krista (James) Marti of Central City, IA, Brenda (Mike) Jolliff of Anamosa, IA and Sam (Nikki Naylor) Jones of Waukon; 13 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; a sister, Bobbie Becker and a sister-in-law, Lois Evans, both of Waukon. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William; a granddaughter, Heather Marti; a great-granddaughter, Clara Jo Runyan; 2 sisters, Angie Bodell and Gretta Williams; and 3 brothers, Otto, Harris and Kenneth Evans.
Honorary casketbearers are her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren. Casketbearers are Jonathan Miller, David Miller, Seth Marti, Nathan Langevin, Felix Berger, Jessica Damm, Justin Jones and Heather Radloff.
