She graduated from Waukon High School in 1984 and graduated from Hamilton Business College in Mason City, IA, in 1986. Becky married Tim Card and they later divorced. She worked most of her professional career at the Principal Financial Group in Des Moines, IA, before moving back to Waukon, where Becky worked for several area businesses.
She loved all animals especially her cat Ruby Rae. Becky enjoyed feeding the deer, raising raccoons, and she never wanted to see any animal suffer. Becky always dreamed of one day having her own animal rehab center. She enjoyed crafts, painting ceramics, spending time on her computer, and purple was her favorite color. Becky was a very caring, loving, and giving person, full of life and fun.
Survivors include her parents Gary and Gloria Gelo of Waukon; her siblings: Jeff Gelo and Jean Root, both of Waukon, Lisa (Curt) Pakkebier of Cedar Rapids, IA, Steve Gelo of Waukon, and Dave (Kirstin) Gelo of Prairie du Chien, WI; and nine nieces and nephews.
