Arthur Fish

Arthur Nelson Fish, 63, of Waukon, IA, died Thursday, August 7, 2025, at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Martin-Grau Funeral in Waukon is handling arrangements.

Arthur Nelson Fish was born May 7, 1962, in at Palmer Memorial Hospital in West Union, IA, the son of Philip L. and Rosie M. (Latham) Fish. He dropped out of school to take care of his parents and helped his dad with the lawn care service. Arthur worked for Hoefer Pumping Inc. in Masonville, IA, Hillandale Farms in West Union, and delivered papers for the Oelwein Daily Register and for Waterloo-Cedar Falls. He and Grace L. Thomas helped each other with the routes in Oelwein and Fairbank, IA. Arthur and Grace married on September 3, 2016, at United Methodist Church in Oelwein by Rev. Connie Markle. For a short time, he also worked at Agri Star in Postville, Deco in Decorah, Mathis Field Services out of Lansing, and at Reel Core in Waukon.

Survivors include his wife Grace Fish of Waukon; stepchildren Dominic Thorsten of Oelwein and Blossom Thorsten of Waukon; his only living uncle Robert Fish; and many cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Irene Maffei, and his aunts and uncles.
