Angella "Angie" Troendle, 73, of Waukon, IA, died Wednesday, November 19, 2014, at Good Samaritan Center in Waukon. Funeral services will be held Monday, November 24th, at 11:00 AM at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Waukon with Fr. Jim Dubert, Fr. Donald Bakewell, Rev. Msgr. Ed Lechtenberg, and Deacon Mike Ward officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Waukon. Friends may call from 2:00 PM - 6:00 PM Sunday at Martin Funeral Home in Waukon, where there will be a 1:45 PM scripture service.
Angella "Angie" Darlene Troendle was born July 10, 1941, in La Crosse, WI, the daughter of Lawrence and Gladys (Gruber) Bakewell. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in New Albin, IA, and graduated from New Albin High School in 1959. On June 6, 1964, she married John Troendle at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in New Albin. Angie worked for several area restaurants and for the Model Bakery in Waukon. She worked as a cook for East Elementary and for the Waukon High School, retiring in 2004; she also worked for Schulte Catering. Angie was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church. She enjoyed working in her garden, canning her produce, camping, needle work, painting crafts, and spending time with her family.
Survivors include her husband John of Waukon; her children: Larry of Waukon, and Linda Hackman of Colorado Springs, CO; four grandchildren: Zachary and Dalon Troendle, and Tyler and Tana Marie Hackman; and a brother Duane (special friend Leona Peyton) Bakewell of New Albin, IA. She is preceded in death by her parents; and a daughter-in-law Paula Troendle.
Casketbearers are Jerry and Roger Bakewell, J.C., and Chad Kelly, Kerry, and Jeff Troendle.
