Andrea "Toots" P. Ellis, 68, of Harpers Ferry, IA, died Saturday, November 23, 2013, at Thornton Manor in Lansing, IA. A celebration of her life will be held on Sunday, December 1st, from 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM at the Harbor House Restaurant in Harpers Ferry. Martin Funeral Home in Waukon is assisting the family with arrangements.
Andrea Pearl Ellis was born December 22, 1944, in Hammond, IN, the daughter of Harold and Mary (Sajdera) Johnson. She graduated from Thornton Fractional North High School in Calumet City, IL. Toots drove bus and semi in the Chicago area for several years. On February 14, 1990, she married William Ellis at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, IA. They lived in Harpers Ferry. She enjoyed playing cards especially euchre, taking trips to Blue Eye, MO, and spending time with her family and friends.
Survivors include her husband William Ellis of Harpers Ferry; her step-children: Tami (Bill) Vetter of Charles City, IA, Travis Ellis of Blue Springs, MO, Elissa (Darrell) Keiser of Belton, MO, and Jessica Ellis of Davenport, IA; 4 step-grandchildren; a brother Harold Jr. (Monika) Johnson of Pennsylvania; three sisters: Carole Muskievicz of Illinois, Nancy (William) Stephans of Missouri, and Linda Erickson of Arizona. She is preceded in death by her parents; and a brother Gene Johnson.
