Xavier J. Pettit, 10 months old died Monday, July 9, 2012, at his home in Waukon. Funeral services will be held Friday, July 13th, at 1:00 PM at Martin Funeral Home in Waukon, with Fr. John Moser officiating. Burial will be at St. Pius Cherry Mound Cemetery, rural Harpers Ferry, IA. Friends may call from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM Friday at Martin Funeral Home in Waukon.

Xavier John Pettit was born September 9, 2011 in LaCrosse, WI, the son of Jesse Pettit of Prairie du Chien, WI, and Nicole McGeough of Waukon, IA.

Xavier was a miracle that will forever be in our hearts. He surpassed what was expected of him. He made everything all right when we snuggled him in our arms. He was a little fighter who taught us that life is too short to not live it to its fullest. He also taught us that when you really love someone, they will live forever in your heart. Rest in peace, Xavier John. We love you!

In addition to his parents he is survived by his maternal grandmother, Laurie Gjere of Waukon; paternal grandmother, Tina Pettit of Prairie du Chien and many other relatives.
